Lesley & Derek walk Hadrian's Wall Day 2

Day two. 15.12 Miles Solway-on-Bowness to Carlisle

Light travelling today as we can leave some of our things in the room. Following a lovely breakfast we make ourselves ready for the day a misty damp morning walking to the bus station ready to catch the 93 bus out to Solway-on-Bowness.
An eventful journey with a closed road & the driver hadn't been told so with the help of the passengers has to turn the bus in a narrow road, luckily a gate to open land was available to use but still a tight manoeuvre!
Eventually arriving at Solway-on-Bowness later than planed, we start the walk with a few of the other people from the bus. We Call them our Wall friends gleaning snippets of information from them as we cat & mouse them along the trail.
Everyone soon settles into their own pace we all get spread out along the path. An American in flipflops seems to be a talking point of many of the walkers all intrigued as to how far she will get!
The hours pass, the wind behind is great for us but people heading into it are well wrapped up with heads down straining against it, Soon the rain comes forcing waterproofs to be worn, The rain stays with us all the way to Carlisle arriving with one of our wall mates John who we have been walking along with for q lot of the path, John heads off to his Motor home bidding us safe passage. We never saw John again!
